Hey Solopreneur 🕵️‍♂️,

When I first started my business alone, I was excited and ready to win. But even with all my excitement, I felt like I was going nowhere.

I had a great product, but I couldn't get ahead of my competitors.

I would stay up late, looking over my business plans, wondering what I was missing.

Sound familiar?

The frustration was real.

No matter how hard I worked, it seemed like my competitors were always ahead.

They had more customers, better reviews, and nicer ads. I was stuck.

I didn't know what they were doing, and the worst part?

I didn't know how to find out.

I felt lost, like I was in a maze without a map.

Then, one day, it hit me.

I was reading a business forum when I found a thread about checking out your competitors.

People were sharing tips on how to see what other businesses were doing.

That was my 'aha' moment.

I realized that understanding my competitors wasn't spying; it was being smart.

If I could learn from their successes and avoid their mistakes, I could plan my business better.

With this new idea, I made a plan.

I would study my competitors, focusing on four main areas: their online presence, their products and services, their marketing, and their customer feedback.

Here's how I did it, and how you can too:

Check Their Online Presence

Start with their websites, social media, and online reviews.

What do they do well?

Where do they get the most likes and comments?

Think of it like reading a favorite recipe book.

See which recipes people love and try them out.

Study Their Products and Services

Look at what they sell, their prices, and what customers say.

How do their products compare to yours?

This is like tasting food at a restaurant.

Find out what flavors people love and try them in your kitchen.

Watch Their Marketing

Notice their ads, sales, and how they talk to customers.

Learn what catches people's attention.

It's like watching how a store decorates for holidays.

See what attracts people and use those ideas in your store.

Learn from Their Customer Feedback

Read reviews and comments.

Understand what customers like and don't like about your competitors.

This is like reading movie reviews.

Find out what makes a movie a hit or a miss, and use those tips for your own “movie”.

My Observation

"Observe the masses and do the opposite." – James Caan

As I started doing these things, I had some problems.

At first, it was too much.

There was so much information, and I didn't know where to start.

I spent hours looking at data, feeling stuck again.

But I remembered why I started: to get ahead and make my business better.

I kept going, making my process better as I went.

And then, things started to change.

Slowly, my newsletter got more visitors, and my consultation calls increased.

My GPT system gets more sales.
I build my tribe on LinkedIn, establish my authority, and build my personal brand.

On top of that, I build my fans, not followers.

I wasn't just keeping up with my competitors; I was passing them.

The best part?

I felt strong and sure of myself.

I understood my market and knew how to use that knowledge.

Now, I'm here to share these tips with you.

Start using these ideas to study your competitors and make your business better. Make a list of competitors to watch and note what they do well.
